About
It is time for celebration….
Finally, after five years of searching and creation I am delighted to announce that my book, a collection of conversations with wise women in Ireland, has been launched.

What is the book about?
Inspired by an encounter with some vivacious older women who lived through the sixties in San Francisco, the author undertakes a search for Ireland’s Wise Women. The journey leads her from her home in Cork to the four corners of Ireland.
As she travels the author is wholeheartedly welcomed into the homes and lives of six Wise Women. Through soulful and often entertaining conversations, the women’s greatest joys and sorrows are explored. They talk about many things including family, death, peace, ‘maverick-buddhism’, church, spirituality, the Earth, love, sex, relationships, raising children and finance. Each woman commands the power for deep transformation.
In the world today, when many people are taken up with the business of living, there is often little chance to stop and seek the wisdom of those who have lived full and varied lives. This book offers you that potential… it is a ‘gift’ of wisdom from Ireland’s Wise Women.
What are people saying about the book?
Judith Hoad, one of the wise women from the book wrote….Firstly, I never think of myself as a ‘wise’ person, despite other people’s assertions. Rather, I think of myself as ‘experienced’ – but only via the experiences I have had in my own life.
Reading about other women’s wisdoms makes me see how much we have in common – while our individual experiences often set us apart.
The deepest impression I got from “Of Constant Heart” was from your own interjections, Ann Marie, of how the interviews brought insights on your own journey through life. This, in turn, has finally wakened me to the realisation that we ‘grey-heads’ do have a contribution to make to younger people – greater than I ever thought before.
Your book is different from any other I have read and I hope and believe that many people will find the interviews as helpful and as insightful to them, as you found them to yourself…..
Sharon Mehdi, author of The Great Silent Grandmother Gathering, commented that Ann-Marie’s style is “easy and breezy and full of humor and heart.” She went on to say, “ Honestly, I am absolutely entranced — with the stories, and with [her] telling of them. I especially like the introduction and [her] degree of candor. [She] has a wonderful gift. ”
AnnMarie I was surprised and delighted by the book. Once I started it I couldn’t stop – I felt a great hunger for more and it has rekindled an interest in my own spiritual quest which has I now realise been on the back burner since Jessica was born – or at least it took a very different form – delightful and wonderful in its own way but it feels so good to find that deeper broader yearning in myself again. I think it is a more important book that you realise – or perhaps your modesty hides that realisation ! In some ways it reminds me of ‘XXX’ which became a huge international best seller – but your book is much much better – way more AUTHENTIC and that is of inestimable value. Thank you so much for having the courage to bare your soul and share so much of your personal journey – its what we all crave to know: the inner struggles of our fellow human beings. Its also a great summary of a lot of complex spiritual and ecological theory. It will benefit many. Lots of love and a huge WELL DONE TO YOU ANN-MARIE xxxxxx
Joan from West Cork said… “there is a woman in my life who has always been like a wise woman to me. I’ve never known how to say thank you to her…. i’m going to send her a copy of this book. I’m so inspired by these women, and so inspired by the journey that you have undertaken to bring these stories to us. Thank you.”
Grace…”One of the things I really LOVE about this book is that you have taken it upon yourself to get this out there. There is no big multinational publisher involved…the word is just spread from Woman to Woman…. it is like a little revolution!”

2nd October 2010…… Blackrock Castle Observtory, Cork, Ireland. Four of the six women from the book attended, all of them are delighted to offer workshops. And then we had a Wisdom Council, an opportunity to hear 13 women elders speak. Our topic for the wisdom council was …. Wisdom to pass on to our children and future generations……
